The Troop 57 Google Account

Each member of Troop 57 is given an email account through Google which helps with more seamless communication in the Troop. These accounts will allow you to communicate with and view the contact information of others in the Troop as well as give you access to our online Merit Badge Library and other shared Troop files. Future emails regarding the Troop will be sent to these new accounts.

Once you join the troop, you will receive and email with instructions to set up your own Troop 57 account. Once you have set it up and signed in, you will find an email in your Troop inbox with the setup instructions for your Scout’s account. The process will take no more than 5 minutes.

Scouts will often email each other when preparing for a campout with regards to meal planning, tenting arrangements, etc., and to access shared files from Google Drive. This account also gives Scouts access to Google Chat and Spaces within the Gmail app and website which allows them to communicate with their patrols. Parents are always Ccd when another adult is emailing a Scout and Scouts cannot send emails or chats outside of the Troop 57 domain.

Once you are all set up, make sure to check out the other articles on the Technical Guides page of our website to see step-by-step directions to help you with the technical side of things in Troop 57.

These guides include:

  • Instructions on how to sign up for important text messages from Troop 57.

  • How to view the Troop 57 member directory so that you can get in contact with other members of the Troop.

  • How to sync the Troop 57 Events and Activities calendar to your devices (specifically Apple devices, since they require an extra step).

Please contact Koray Gates (kgates@troop57santafe.org) with any questions regarding these accounts.
